In the last couple of months we’ve begun preaching through the book of Acts. Acts is great because it helps us orient ourselves as we begin a new congregation (the 4pm) and a new season for the existing congregation (9:30am).
In a day where there are so many views and so many models of what church is and should look like, we’re enjoying delving deep into God’s Word to see what He says, and we’re being challenged. My sermon last Sunday on Acts 2:42-47 I think was especially challenging (Have a listen on-line if you get a chance).
We’re also in the middle of a re-visioning process for our site which is exciting. I (Nat) with a team of people have been praying and imagining what could be done here over the next five years. We’ve done surveys. We’ve talked with people. And this Sunday (31st July) I will be presenting a paper outlining our vision and some key initiatives we will endeavour to undertake in the next five years to reach our goals.
I’m especially excited and thankful to God at this present time for some key gospel conversations I’ve been having with people at St. A’s and the change I can see God doing in them.
There are also some great missional things happening through our MC’s (missional communities), including a Wine and Cheese night my MC is hosting next Friday night.
