In 1 Peter 2:12, Peter writes: “Live such good lives among those in the world that… they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” We live in a world that is growing increasingly suspicious of religion, and of those who profess faith.
Now more than ever, our community needs to see and experience the goodness and generosity of God through the loving service of the church. As Peter says, our actions are a powerful witness to the world around us! The vision of St Hilary’s Hope is to mobilise our church to provide care, support, and practical assistance to struggling people in our community. We do this through a variety of programs:
The Coach program
Connecting volunteer mentors from our church with individuals and families experiencing hardship, assisting them to create a brighter future for themselves
A program designed to support people with disabilities, which St Hilary’s has been involved with for over 30 years
A program developed to assist children with emotional and social support
The Prague House Fellowship
Providing friendship and care to the members of the Prague House community residence
The annual Hope for Boroondara and Beyond Food Drive!
All of these programs are run by amazing volunteers from our church, who serve in this way because it is our privilege to share with those outside our church the love and grace of God.
St Hilary’s Hope is always looking for new volunteers to join in on these fabulous ministries. If you would like to volunteer, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our programs also rely on your generosity, so please consider financially supporting Hope. Donations to Hope over $2 are tax deductible.
