Just about all of us know the story of Jonah. It is one of the biblical stories that still has some resonance and memory in popular culture. Most visitors to Israel will pop into Joppa and get a photo of the giant fish.
We often just think about it as a great story (especially for children) but, in fact, it is a sophisticated piece of writing.
A fresh new exposition of Jonah is “the Prodigal Prophet” by Tim Keller (2018).
I’ve really enjoyed being helped to look at this familiar tale through fresh eyes.
I trust the sermons and these studies are a great basis for prayer and interaction together.
