We would love you join us for a Women’s Dinner on Friday 25th of October at 7:30pm. This is an opportunity to join with friends, have a delicious dinner and hear a great speaker. The cost is $40 - paid on the night (cash or card)

Dr Sarah Wilson is a biologist and program director for ISCAST–Christianity and Science in Conversation.

Sarah will be sharing her experience of educating young people about science and faith. Because of these strong views, many unchurched young people think that all Christians refute evolutionary theory. ISCAST knows this view is common in Australia because we are consistently questioned about the perceived inconsistency between evolution and the Bible by students during our school visits.

What a tragedy that some young people won’t even consider Christianity because of misunderstandings about science and faith!

Out of this concern grows ISCAST’s commitment to helping the church put to rest the myth of a science–faith conflict.

Dr Sarah Wilson studied science with a master’s degree in seaweed phylogenetics and a PhD in cell biology. While a researcher, she had many opportunities to communicate her scientific studies to the public and undertook a short fellowship at the ABC in Sydney where she learnt ways to publicise complicated scientific processes to a lay audience.

For 15 years Sarah worked as an electron microscopist for a large research group focussed on improving grain quality for human health purposes. She continues this work part-time at La Trobe University. She also lectured in plant and cell biology undergraduate courses and coordinated practical classes. She has published many peer-reviewed scientific papers and has participated at overseas conferences as an invited speaker. She has worked in laboratories in both South Korea and the USA funded by academic scholarships.
