Singleness may be a permanent or temporary situation, stemming from personal choice or circumstances beyond one's control. Within our community, we also have individuals who are 'Sunday-single,' attending church without their spouses, and others who are navigating the challenges of caring for an infirmed loved one. Many of our committed and most servant-hearted church members fall into one or more of these categories, and our goal is to extend excellent care and discipleship to them as well.
Therefore, we've come up with an idea: On Friday, February 9, at 7:30 pm, the Marriage Course will launch as planned, spanning seven weeks. I encourage married couples to consider participating as an investment in their marriage, regardless of the life stage they find themselves in, visit the dedicated page here. Simultaneously, at Mont Albert North in the church, we will host a Singles Forum. The forum is open to everyone, with a specific focus on what it means to walk faithfully with Jesus as a single person.
Each week at the forum, there will be a light meal, a time of prayer, a talk, and an opportunity for engagement. It's essential to emphasise that while the focus is on singleness, the forum is open to everyone because our aim is to equip the Body of Christ to love one another well in whatever life stage or circumstance we find ourselves in.
The Singles Forum will include the following topics:
Singleness in the Storyline of Scripture
Myths About Singleness
A Theology of Sexuality
Rethinking Contentment
Loving Singles in Word and Deed
The Art of Biblical Friendship
Q&A Session
