Pentecost Celebration, 24 May

In recent years, it has been our custom to mark Pentecost as a Church community.  On Pentecost Day we will have two combined parish services at Kew at 10am and 6pm, with 10am being a bilingual service.  We will also retain a 9am morning service at Mont Albert North. There will not be an 11am Mandarin service on Pentecost Day.

Traditionally Pentecost marks the last day of the Easter season.  At Pentecost Jewish believers recall the day that the Law was given to Moses on Mt Sinai.  In Acts 2 the believers were gathering in Jerusalem for the Pentecost festival.  The Holy Spirit was poured out en masse on that day as had been prophesied by Joel and promised by Jesus.  It's therefore a great day to specifically celebrate the Holy Spirit's work in our Church today and ask God to fill us afresh with His Spirit for continued ministry, gifts and revelation.
